Water  purification system dedication

Today we attended the dedication ceremony for the water purification system that was installed at a local church in Nairobi. It was amazing to see the locals flock to the pump where this fresh, disease free water flowed from. There were people at the pump from the moment it opened at 6am to the second it closed at 9pm. This fresh water will not only cut down on disease but it will also enable local women to pursue educational and other vocational interests who, in the past, had to spend much of their time traveling far on foot in search of water.
Tomorrow is our first clinic in Nairobi and we will be treating people from 9am till 6pm. It will be interesting to see the various conditions and other endemic diseases that are prevalent in this area. It will be great to see the joy and hope in the faces of the people we treat.
Cheers,
Lauren
